For a 3D printer brand, a DIY printer kit is not just a collection of parts. A complete kit may include aluminum profiles, machined plates, motion system parts, wiring harnesses, electronic components, build platform parts, fasteners, tools, packaging materials and sometimes customer-supplied components.
If these parts arrive as loose components, the customer still needs to sort, check, regroup and repack them before the kit can be sold or shipped. That is not the goal. The finished kit should arrive at the customer's appointed warehouse in a clear, complete and ready-to-sell condition.
Customer background
The customer was a 3D printer brand preparing complete DIY printer kits for warehouse delivery. They provided the BOM, drawings, samples, packaging requirements and destination warehouse information. Some components were supplied by the customer; other parts needed to be arranged according to confirmed specifications, drawings or samples.
Why loose parts were not enough
Many parts look similar but are not interchangeable. A cable may have the wrong length. A terminal may use a different connector. An aluminum profile may have a different hole position. A build platform part may need extra protection. One missing bag, one wrong label or one incorrect regional version can create warehouse delays, assembly problems or after-sales complaints.
BOM grouping and component control
Yuntrex helped review the component list and organize the parts by kit structure — structural, motion, wiring, electronic, platform, fasteners and tools. For parts arranged by Yuntrex, key details were checked: material, size, hole position, surface finish, cable length, connector type, terminal specification, packing quantity and protection requirement. Customer-supplied components were integrated into the same kit structure.
Kit packing and label structure
Similar-looking parts were separated into different bags, boxes or labeled groups. Yuntrex supported inner bags, paper boxes, labels and outer cartons according to the customer's packaging standards, including box size, label position, carton marks, packing quantity and kit grouping.
Regional version control
Power plugs and power-related accessories are a common example. Before final packing, Yuntrex checked the destination warehouse and the required regional configuration. The correct plug version, power-related accessories, carton labels and packing list needed to match the warehouse receiving the batch.
Final checking before shipment
Before shipment, Yuntrex checked the kit as a complete structure — parts complete, grouped correctly, packed in the right position and matched with the right labels, cartons and destination warehouse. The purpose was to reduce missing parts, wrong parts, mixed bags, wrong labels and wrong regional versions before the goods left the supplier.
The result
The customer received complete DIY printer kits instead of loose components. Once the BOM grouping, packing method, label format and warehouse version were confirmed, the same structure could be followed again for repeat orders.
